Current Favorite Makes for Summer

Even though warmer days typically roll through our coastal town toward the end of the season, it doesn't mean we can't start dreaming up summery knits now. Plus, for our friends who are already feeling high temps, you can start readying your queues along with us!  Read further for our current favorite makes for summer.

This fabulous tee was featured in one of our newsletters not long ago, and folks loved it, so, we had to make more kits!  We can see why too: Caprock by Bernice of Yamagara Knits is just calling for warmer weather. Designed for Woolfolk's latest collection, this fun pattern, with its well-placed yoke stitching, shows off the beauty of their Stra yarn. Connie is casting it on in the ivory colorway.  Watch for photos of her progress!

Of course we're adding our Basher's Beach Morning Walk Hat to this list. Its become our quintessential go-to for any season. I've taken my beloved pattern and knit it in our custom colorway of Plucky Primo DK held single. Our kits feature two skeins of yarn, plenty for you to make an adult hat and add a pom pom or make an adult and baby hat. It is the perfect hat for me to wear on our oceanside walks. I love how the top looks like a wave!

We're drawn to linens for summer knits, and these darling little linen scrunchies are the perfect project for the season.  Knit with worsted weight linen; these are a super quick knit. Sew in your own elastic, and voila, ponytail! Our kit includes the pattern and three coordinating skeins of linen. Koryn is obsessed with knitting these and loves to gift them to friends. Such an easy and thoughtful gift!

A giant box of Wool and the Gang's Shiny Happy Cotton arrived at the shop, and Koryn could not wait to dive in!  She's crocheting their Malibu sweater and is having a blast.   What's summer without a cute cotton top? Such fun colors! Be on the lookout for a series of classes for the sweater!

We hope you've found some summer project inspiration!  If you decide on any of these projects, we'd love to see them!  Please share them with our #knitandbehappy or tag us on Instagram and Facebook.
