Fresh From the Oven: Fall Recipes We Love

Fall is here, and with it comes all the best comforts: cozy knits, glowing candles, and, of course, the smell of something baking in the oven. 🍂 Inspired by our recent fall blog posts, we thought it would be fun to continue the theme with a little baking inspiration. Read on to learn about some favorites from our team.

Pumpkin Bundt Cake with Maple Brown Butter
For Ann, nothing says fall quite like the Pumpkin Bundt Cake With Maple Brown-Butter Glaze by Yossy Arefi. “It’s one of my favorites to make for fall! This moist cake, full of warm spices and pumpkin purée, is finished with a rich, nutty brown-butter maple glaze. It’s always a hit - and even better the next day!”

Connie can’t resist anything with pumpkin and a crumb topping. “Pumpkin and crumb toppings are two of my favorite things and definitely say fall to me!” Her go-to bake is the Pumpkin Crumb Cake from NYT Cooking, the perfect mix of cozy and sweet.

Jenn is hosting Thanksgiving this year and already has her baking list for that week mapped out. On the menu? Boozy Apple Crunch Cake by Vaughn Vreeland, Gluten-Free Apple Crumble Muffins by James Beard nominee Kat of The Loopy Whisk (she highly recommends Kat’s book The Elements of Baking), and Cinnamon Apple Scones from Love & Lemons.

“While I do love pumpkin desserts and tend to lean that way most years, this fall I’m exploring all things apple,” she says. “I’m also planning a cookie baking day: Oatmeal and Pecan Praline Brittle Cookies by Claire Saffitz are at the top of my list - so send any fall-inspired cookie recipes my way!”

Whether you’re a pie baker, cookie lover, or bread enthusiast, we hope these recipes inspire you to tie on an apron, preheat the oven, and enjoy a little homemade comfort this season.

What are some of your favorite fall bakes?

Thanks for sharing these wonderful ideas. The boozy apple cake has been on my radar for sure, and I think I’ll try the pecan praline cookies~Fun!
There is a recipe that I came across recently, from Sally’s Baking Addiction, a great baking website. It’s for Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Bread, which you can give a local twist by using Elroy’s sprouted trail mix with cranberries, pecans and white chocolate in place of half the chocolate chips.
