Spotlight on Yarn: Shibui Murmur

Raise your needles if you're ready for chunky knits!  Arriving just in time for holiday knitting, this week's spotlight is one you'll want to wind right up. Introducing Shibui's latest yarn base, Murmur.

Like a small cloud of featherlight fluff, this bulky-weight yarn has a lovely airiness thanks to the chainette construction of its strand. Softly waving fibers of Superbaby Alpaca and Merino Wool are blown through, giving this yarn plenty of irresistible puff. Oh, so soft—we’re thinking of the coziest accessories to wear against our skin!

Murmur is a Shibui’s first chunky yarn! It comes in a 50 gram, 65 yard (59 meter) hank. It knits to 3.25 stitches per inch on a US 11 (8.0mm) needle. It must be washed by hand and laid flat to dry.

This last week, we featured the Trellis hat and we nearly sold out!  This fabulous hat will knit up rather quick. You'll be wearing this hat in—if not a few hours—a few nights of knitting. That means it’s perfect as a last-minute gift, too!

Our dear friend of the shop, Britt-Marie Brehmer designed Kenza, a cozily cute cape that will make for the perfect fall and winter accessory.  We love the roomy cowl neck. Which color should we choose?

Jenn, online web wrangler, plans to knit up a couple of these fun sets to gift this season: Torrey Cowl & Hat by Tayler Ann Knits.  Such a thoughtful and cozy pairing!

The arrival of Murmur in the shop signals a happy time for us – fall and holiday knitting! What a treat to knit it will be to knit a few gifts with Shibui’s stunning new yarn.
