New Classes, New Notions & Plenty to Knit
Dear Friends,
It’s a busy and buzzy Concours Weekend here on the Monterey Peninsula! My daughter, son-in-law, and grandson are visiting, so I will be happily ignoring the racing engines and crowds and enjoying some quality family time instead. Today, we are meeting in San Francisco for a trip to the zoo before heading to the Peninsula tomorrow. I wonder what my grandson will think of Big Ben! The last time he saw the puppy, he was half the size, and now he weighs just over 100 pounds!
We’ve added more classes to our roster! We’ll be breaking down some of the lessons from the Patty Lyons workbook into smaller sessions. At the end of September, we’ll focus on increases and decreases, and in November, we’ll cover short rows. Each class is designed to help build your knitting skills and confidence.
With our Fall Olga/Stripe Along starting next month, we’re offering a “For the Love of Stripes” class on August 22nd to help you prepare for the knit-along. This class will be packed with tips for carrying yarn up the sides, working different jogless stripe methods, and tidying up your stripes. Stay tuned for knit-along kits in next week’s newsletter!
There’s plenty of newness in the shop this week, too. We have new Notions Zippered Pouches, new Degen Two Tone Circle Scissors, and a Degen restock. And this week’s projects have a little something for everyone - from cozy cashmere and a bit of colorwork to a beautiful shawlette, a striking sweater, and even a sheep or two!
Knit and be happy,
Ann
Highlights

Colorplay lovers, meet Veiga! This playful bandana pairs stripes and intarsia with the gorgeous color palette of Sandnes Garn Sunday. And if intarsia is new to you, fear not — the pattern includes video tutorials to help you along the way. Plus, we're always here to help!

The delicate pointelle lace and sweet finishing details of the Bay Shawlette make it such a lovely transitional piece. Pair it with Cashmere Treats Cashmere Merino Luxe for a little extra luxury as we head toward fall.

We love a good waffle stitch, and this one is so handsome! Knit the Caramel-Cashmere Waffle Hat in Pascuali Cashmere 6/28 for an incredibly soft, cozy hat you’ll want to wear all fall long.

Baaaah! How darling are these little sheep? The Counting Sheep Coaster is a sweet little project and a great way to give double knitting a try. Grab a few color kits of Quince & Co. Finch and start building your flock!

Stripes, stranded colorwork, and clever construction make Antipodes one seriously engaging sweater. Our kits pair Plucky Knitter Primo Fingering with Spincycle Dyed in the Wool for a combination that really lets the colorwork shine. Such a fun knit!

They make a great little gift, too!
Degen Restock + New Fun Scissors!
Degen favorites are back, along with a few new additions! We’ve added their Two Tone Circle Scissors - tiny, colorful, and TSA approved for your travel knitting. Plus, the much-loved Black Cat now comes with three tapestry needles tucked inside instead of cords. Cute and clever!
