A Virtual Workshop with Amy Odin, Knit Chats
Tuesday, March 28th from 11:00 am to noon (pst)

Attention all knitters!! Are you afraid to make mistakes? Terrified to drop a stitch? Confounded by funny-looking stitches, holes or extra stitches? Then this class is for you. Knowing how to fix your mistakes is critical to becoming a proficient knitter. To be able to fix your errors easily will save you time and result in more beautiful finished projects. It will empower you to approach your knitting and grow your skills without fear. Join Amy Odin, KnitChats coach, teacher, and designer as she shows you how to count your rows, tink (unknitting while keeping your stitches on the needle), and rip back your work and place live stitches back on the needles. She’ll demonstrate how to fix dropped stitches, and avoid extra stitches at the end of a row. She’ll also discuss tension issues and what to do when you get those pesky holes in your fabric. Bring a sample swatch to class and try some of these fixes for yourself.

Skills level: All

Supplies:

  • 1 crochet hook (5 mm or around that)
  • 1 Tapestry needle
  • Smooth waste yarn in a sport or dk weight that contrasts with the color of your swatch.

Pre-work: Cast on 25 stitches and Knit a stockinette swatch for at least 2 inches (knit on the right side, purl on the wrong side) in worsted weight. Leave on the needles.
