Get into the festive spirit with Jamie Lomax’s Holiday Doodle Stocking! Join me for a cozy and creative knitting class, where you’ll craft a charming holiday stocking and learn essential sock knitting techniques.

In this virtual three-one-hour workshop, you’ll:

  • Knit the Holiday Doodle Stocking: Follow Jamie’s whimsical pattern to create a beautifully decorated stocking that’s perfect for holiday cheer.
  • Learn Basic Sock Techniques: Gain confidence as you practice turning the heel, an essential skill for shaping the foot of your sock or stocking.
  • Master Kitchener Stitch: Finish your project with the seamless Kitchener stitch to create a smooth, professional toe or top edge.

Whether you’re a beginner looking to delve into sock knitting or an experienced knitter wanting to refresh your skills, this class is designed to be both fun and educational. Bring your yarn and enthusiasm, and leave with a festive masterpiece and new knitting skills!

This class will take place live via zoom in 3, 1-hour sessions, which will all be recorded and shared with class participants!

  • Class 1: How to doodle! Joining in the round and how to choose colors
  • Class 2: Fair isle, catching the floats, bonus bobbles! 
  • Class 3: Turning the heel - the mock short row heel, finishing up with kitchener stitch on the toe

Skill level: Adventurous Beginner to Intermediate knitter

Materials:

  • Pattern: Holiday Doodle Cowl by Jamie Lomax - The pattern includes doodle charts and blank doodle charts for you to indulge your own creativity!

Size

  • The pattern is written for two sizes of stocking, but also has instructions for how to adjust the size to your liking!  

Yarn: 1 full skein MC and 4-6 half skeins CC in DK Weight SW Merino Wool yarn

Needles: US 4/3.5 mm (or size needed to obtain gauge), 16 in (40 cm circular needles) or 12 in circular needles             

Notions: stitch markers, TMB cords, tapestry needle and scissors

Full payment is needed to reserve your space.  For a refund on the class, cancellations must be made five days before the class.  All refunds are given as store credit only. If we cancel the class for any reason, you will receive a full refund.  Please note that any supplies or homework are listed under the class description.  No Monarch Rewards Points can be used towards the payment of a class.
