Spotlight on: Thanks

With Thanksgiving just a week away, I have been reflecting on the things that I am most thankful for in my life. One of the things that popped into my mind was how much knitting has enriched my life. Not only did it lead to a career that I love, it has opened my world to so many interesting people and friends.
I posed the question to our instagram audience, "In the interest of the coming season, please share your reason(s) you are thankful for your knitting or crochet?"
  • Knitting is my calm amidst the chaos. I'm grateful for the peace it brings.
  • Brings me relaxation and pride of making something.
  • Beauty of making heals the world.
  • Seeing a project grow gives me so much joy.
  • Keeping my hands busy.
  • Sanity! Community!
  • I am thankful for my knitting friends!
  • It has introduced me to so many people in the crafting community. Both irl and online.
  • I feel creative and (it) keeps me happy.
  • During the Covid stay at home, it gave me such peace and a sense of normal feeling. I love Xmas knitting.
  • Monarch Knitting ❤️  Friendship, community and patience.
  • I taught myself to knit during covid.  I love learning and challenging myself! I love Monarch Knitting!

My answer? Simply put, knitting brings me joy. I love sitting down with my needles and yarn, I find it fun and entertaining, calming and creative. Knitting also makes me a more patient person. I don't mind waiting as long as I have my knitting, hello airports. And, the best part – without knitting, I would not have met all of you. Thank you for being a part of our community.

After a serious illness, I had to relearn how to knit! It was a challenge, and I am not up to what I was able to do, but it gave me hope that I could regain what I had. It keeps me calm and relaxed.

Knitting has made me look forward to long car drives – as long as someone else is driving! It is a fabulous way to wind down every evening, while I listen to my latest audiobook.
