Then and Now: A Look Back Over 10 Years

Ten years!  We thought it would be fun to look back at Monarch Knitting through the years.

The 'new' Monarch opened on April 20th, 2013, after a remodel to the original shop on Central Avenue. Oh, my goodness, the shelves were so empty!

We were not in that location for very long as we were asked to relocate across the hall in late October of that same year.  We have a bit more yarn on the shelves!

We also attended 4 Stitches West in Santa Clara.  It was a ton of work but an absolute blast once the show started.

Then we made the big move last March. After a fire in our old building on Central Avenue that luckily did not damage my shop but rendered the building useless, I looked in earnest for the perfect spot.  I wanted high ceilings and lots of light...good luck, right? We found it, and after a few months of planning, we moved into our current location at 490 Lighthouse. I love the space and feel at home here, and I hope you do too.

Congratulations to all of you. Monarch will always be tops on my list of places that make me happy! It won’t be long before I’m home and knitting in my favorite spot!

Monarch is the “Cheers” of yarn shops! Tuesdays would not be the same without my place at the table. Moving to the Peninsula just shy of 10 yrs ago Monarch was the “welcome mat” to the beginning of many wonderful friendships. Sharing projects and always knowing the yarn we “needed” was right there. Congratulations on the 10th Anniversary!!
